Rules

The rules and regulations of the FIR - International Racketlon Federation are based on the rules of the individual sports Table tennis, Badminton, Squash and Tennis and can be found on www.racketlon.net

    In summary:
    1.
In a Racketlon match, two players challenge each other in all four-racket sports. One set in each sport.
    2. Each point counts. The winner is the one who scores the most points in total.
    3. Each set is played to 21 points with the following exception: At 20-20 the set is extended until there is a two-point difference between the players (You can win by e.g. 25-23 but never with 21-20.)
    4. Each serve game contains two serves. First serve from the right, second from the left side, except table tennis.
    5. Matches are played in the following sequence: table tennis, badminton, squash and tennis.
    6. At the beginning of each sport lots are drawn. The winner chooses either to serve, receive or from which end to start. The other player gets the remaining choice.
    7. There is a first and a second serve in tennis.
    8. Ends are switched at 11. During changeover, players are allowed a break of max one minute (this is valid for squash as well even though there are no change of ends).
    9. Is the score even after the end of all 4 sets, the tennis set will be extended by 1 point. The winner of the tennis set decides to serve or to receive. There is just 1 service, no second serve. The winner of this point is the winner of the whole match.

    Time regulations:
In order to keep to the time schedule no more than 2/3 minutes can be allowed to warm up with the opponent before each set. After having finished one set, players have to check in at the court desk of the next sport after latest 3 minutes, to continue the match or to get a free court. Each player can ask for one injury time out of 3 minutes per Racketlon match. If any of these time regulations are violated, a player can be warned and later disqualified. Such decisions can only taken by the head-referee or tournament director.

    Referees:
Four head-referees - one in each sport - will be permanently on site during the WILSON Racketlon WM 2008. In matches without referees, each player makes decisions on his side of the court. These decisions stand and cannot be overruled, in cases of controversy a player can ask for a referee before continuing the match. Please do that at the court desk. All players not on court have agreed to take the role of a referee for at least one sport, by entering the tournament. Decisions made by referees during a match cannot be questioned or overruled; disqualifications though can only be made by the head referee.
There will be referees for all main draw women and men elite and all other matches played on the centre courts.
